  What we’re gonna do right here is go back. Wayback. Back into time. Let’s say 1993 or 1994.
  The moldavian hip-hop group D.N.S. consisting of Fresh Sly & BNT is releasing their 5th album in 4 years: “Bumrush Da Basement”. It’s being released on Fresh Sly’s newborn label “Soul Power Records”.
  
  The departure from their previous record (the E.P. “Rebirth”) that sounds more like cosmic, thoughtful and positive is evident, due to the cause “Bumrush” has a much darker and obscure feel to it. The delayed saxophones/trumpets are all over filtered basslines and hard-hitting drums. The vocals and the lyrics got more aggressive and snappy, even on interludes.
  
  16 songs deep, the group manifests their creativity and jazziness from the first to the last song (the last one being a posse cut featuring local MCs Uneek & Smoova), also including cameos by ex-members Doc and C-Locc (even Sly’s mom is featured as a radio host on the “Jazz It Up” intro.)
  
  With “Everyday Thang” as the first single and “We Know We’re Fresh” & “The Renegadez” as follow-ups, the album promises to be a Golden Age Hip-Hop sounding one, in the same vein as Tribe, L.O.N.S, Nas,
  Heiroglyphics & Wu.
  
  With over 50 minutes running time, the “keep-it-real” album aspires to conquer the ears and minds of those who had been thirsty for some jazzy “boom-bap”, while opening the basement door that has a nameplate on it.
